Internships by Geography and Environment Students
17 students from the Geography and Environmental Studies programmes have recently completed their internships in different ministries, departments and organizations in Brunei Darussalam.
The following seven students were supervised by Dr Shafi Noor Islam and Mr Gabriel Yong:
- Rabi’atul Zahidah Binti Tahamat (Geography and Development) at BIBD
- Eric Lu Ching (Environmental Studies) at Agriculture and Agrofood
- Azizul Thaqif Bin Haji Md Yasin (Environmental Studies) at Dealim Industrial Company
- Mohd Nur Azri Bin Aladin (Environmental Studies) at at the Department of Housing Development, Temburong
- Siti Salina Binti Haji Mohamad@ Mohammad (Geography and Development) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports
- Dk Rusydina Nurul Rifah Binti Pg Idris (Environmental Studies) at Energy Department, Prime Minister’s Office
- Siti Nurrafiqah Afifi Bte (Environmental Studies) at Energy Department, Prime Minister’s Office
Two of these students completed their internship at the Sustainable Energy Division of the Energy and Industry Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (EIDPMO). The main objective of this internship and final work presentation and reporting is to prepare the students towards their final year, especially in the field of environmental sustainability and public speaking.
For the past four months, eight other students have been completing their internship at the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC).
They were involved in events such as giving talks for PKBN recruits, mobile app launching, holding birthday celebration for DPMM with do’a reciting, and belia cintai tanah air event at Kg Subok. The students were participating at the NDMC in administration, training, preparation and post disasters preparation. In Brunei, the four types of disaster are: earthquake, floods, fire and haze, and landslides.
