SEAMEO Workshop
From 28 till 31 January, 2019, Dr. Shafi Noor Islam participated in a four-day workshop as part of the SEAMEO SPAFA flagship programme on “Conservation in the Tropics”, a School-based Approach in Promoting Disaster Risk Management for Cultural Heritage.
During the workshop, he presented a paper on “History, Development and Significance of Kampong Ayer”.
The objectives of this paper were to understand the history, development and significance of Kampong Ayer (Water Village) and present an analysis of Kampong Ayer within the framework of UNESCO World Heritage Site selection criteria.
