Five students successfully completed their internship in Semester II, 2017/2018 at the Forestry Department, in the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, Government of Brunei Darussalam.

The internship lasted for 14 weeks from Monday, 15 January till Saturday, 21 April 2018.

The students completed their internship at three different sites:

These projects are described below.

Bukit Teraja Eco-Tourism

Bukit Teraja Eco-tourism Project Area in Kuala Belait District

The project is based in the mountain range that connects the Bukit Teraja Protection Forest and Ulu Mendaram Conservation Forest. The area is characterized by thick primary forests and rich biodiversity that can provide extensive ecological tourism opportunities. It is also supported by strong indigenous communities (e.g. longhouses) and a rich cultural heritage. The great opportunities for ecosystem conservation would suport local livelihood including marketing of local products, research, and the creation of wildlife sanctuaries.
