FASS Seminar by Professor Adam Jaworski

On 25th November 2015, Eminent Visiting Professor to FASS, Professor Adam Jaworski, gave a seminar entitled Welcome: Frames for the Linguistic Landscape of Global Mobility.

In the talk, he described the meaning potential of ‘welcome’ signs from various tourist, commercial and institutional spaces.

This event was a collaboration between the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, University of Riau and Faculty of Education, The National University of Malaysia (UKM).

    Drama Performance by FASS Theatre Students

On 11 April 2015, FASS drama students put on a brilliant performance entitled Love.Fabric.Life. Five plays, each with a different storyline, were presented, unveiling passion, love, life, intercultural distinctiveness and attractiveness. The performance also showed the fragility and complexity of mankind towards its inherited values and tradition.

    Art Exhibition

From 14 till 22 February 2015, International Art Moves (IAM) Exhibition: Brunei Calling was the first international art exhibition to be organized jointly by Culture.net, an international network of art schools and academies, and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

This international art exhibition was professionally curated and displayed in the famous Kunstquartier Bethanien (Bethanien Art Centre) in Berlin, Germany.
