Brief Outline

The ACE project is a multi-national research project investigating the nature of English as a Lingua Franca in Asia. It comprises teams from Hong Kong Institute of Education, Malaysia's University of Malaya, Singapore's National Institute of Education, the Philippines' Atteneo de Manila Univerisity and SEAMEO INNOTECH, Vietnam's SEAMEO RETRAC, and Russia's Far Eastern National University. Each team is recording and transcribing English conversational data produced by speakers from different East Asian countries.
