Start Date : 1 May 2018
End Date : 30 August 2020

Brief Outline
Seven indigenous languages are officially recognised in Brunei Darussalam: Malay, Kedayan, Dusun, Bisaya, Tutong, Belait, and Murut.
The aim of this project is to collect a recording of the Angin Utara ('North Wind and the Sun') text read in each of these indigenous languages and then complete a phonological analysis of the passage.
The recordings will be made available on-line, to create a resource that will facilitate easy comparison of the pronunciation of the various languages.
